We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to support our financial operations with a strong emphasis on financial controller–level tasks. This role does not involve tax preparation or tax filing. Instead, the ideal candidate will focus on core accounting functions, financial reporting, process oversight, and supporting financial controls that ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare accurate financial statements, internal reports, and variance analyses
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries comply with accounting standards
- Monitor and manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining internal controls
- Review financial data for accuracy and proactively identify discrepancies
- Collaborate with leadership on financial planning and operational reporting
- Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
- Evaluate current accounting processes and recommend improvements
- Manage financial documentation, records, and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 2 years experience performing financial controller–level tasks (e.g., month-end close, financial reporting, GL management, internal controls) within the last 5 years of employment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Accounting Power, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data validation)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes preferred
- Experience in a multi-entity or rapidly growing environment preferred
- ERP system implementation or optimization experience is a plus preferred
