We are currently seeking a friendly, dependable, and organized Patient Services Representative to join our Skokie office. As one of the first points of contact for our patients, the PSR plays an important role in creating a welcoming experience while helping keep the office organized and running efficiently.
- Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional experience
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions and appointment needs
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments
- Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently
- Collect patient payments, copays, and outstanding balances
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Assist with insurance eligibility and benefit verification
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Monitor the schedule and communicate changes or concerns to the appropriate team members
- Help fill openings and maintain a productive patient schedule
- Communicate effectively with doctors, hygienists, dental assistants, and other front-office team members
- Respond to patient questions and concerns professionally and courteously
- Follow established office policies and procedures
- Assist with other administrative and front-office responsibilities as needed
- Previous dental or medical front-office experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Professional and friendly phone etiquette
- Comfortable handling payments and discussing patient account balances
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy office environment
- Comfortable working with computers, scheduling systems, and electronic patient records
- Experience with Dentrix is a plus
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
