Job Summary/Basic Function
This incumbent will coordinate all aspects of the WSU PA program’s admission process and will play a crucial role in attracting, evaluating, and selecting the best qualified candidates. This position will ensure fairness, transparency, and efficiency in the admission process, while maintaining compliance with accreditation standards.
- Develop and implement admissions policies that align with the program’s mission and goals and ensure compliance with relevant accreditation standards.
- Co-chair the department’s Admissions Committee.
- Build and manage the CASPA (Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistants) database. Collect, aggregate, analyze, and report on admissions data.
- Evaluate applicants and make calculated decisions regarding which candidates to admit, taking into account the program’s capacity and resources, the number of applicants, and the quality of the applicant pool.
- Direct the application, interview, and matriculation processes.
- Represent the program at recruitment events, college fairs, and other outreach activities to attract qualified candidates and promote the program.
- Oversee the program’s Alumni Association
- Act as a liaison with the college, university, and community organizations
Required Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s Degree
- One year of full-time experience advising or recruiting, or comparable experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
- One year of full-time employment experience in a higher education setting.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build rapport, support students, and maintain a positive, student-focused presence.
- Ability to represent the program professionally and serve as a positive, welcoming point of contact for students and stakeholders.
- Self-directed and able to work autonomously.
- Evidence of exceptional organizational skills.
- Advanced office software and internet computing skills (Google Office Suite, Microsoft Office Suite).
