Title: Substitute Elementary Principal
Rate: $450/day

This position is funded, in full or in part, through grant allocations or student enrollment-based funding sources. Continued employment (or the position’s hourly workload) is contingent upon the availability of future funding, as determined on yearly basis.
Position Overview
Weber School District is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as a Substitute Elementary Principal during the absence of the school principal. This position is temporary and focuses on providing leadership, maintaining school operations, and ensuring the continuity of school events and activities while the principal is away. The substitute principal will uphold the school’s vision, culture, and standards to ensure a safe, positive, and academically enriching environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and maintain the principal’s vision to promote a safe, positive, and inclusive school environment.
- Oversee and manage school events occurring during the principal’s absence, including assemblies, parent meetings, special activities, and school-wide programs.
- Monitor and support daily operations, including student safety, attendance, and behavioral management.
- Serve as the point of contact for staff, students, parents, and visitors during the principal’s absence.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure the smooth execution of planned lessons, schedules, and activities.
- Ensure adherence to district policies, state and federal regulations, and school procedures.
- Address and resolve urgent issues or incidents that arise during the principal’s absence, making decisions in alignment with district expectations.
- Communicate effectively with district leadership regarding school operations and event outcomes.
Attendance is an Essential Function of this Position
- Physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position. The role requires in-person collaboration, direct interaction with team members, other staff, students, and/or guardians, and access to on-site equipment and resources.

- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Qualifications
- Utah Administrative/Supervisory License.
- Minimum of seven years of successful teaching experience in an educational setting.
- Previous educational administrative experience
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage school operations effectively, including personnel, budget, and facility management.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, student-centered school environment.
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student achievement.
