Cake Department Team Member

Weber's Bakery is looking to hire a cake department team member.

Weber's Bakery is one of Chicago's oldest retail bakeries. We've been in business since 1930, and are proud of our history on the southwest side. We are a scratch bakery and we take pride in our products from start to finish. We produce a wide variety of cakes, pastries, breads, and cookies. We are truly an old school bakery, but we keep up with new techniques and trends especially when it comes to our cakes.

We are looking to add a qualified team member to our cake department. Job responsibilities can and will include:

-finish cakes and pastries each morning to sell in the store

-build and fill various tortes, cakes, and pastries

-ice ring cakes, top store cakes, and ice custom cakes

-use an 80-quart mixer to make whipped creams

-mix buttercreams, fillings, and other icings for cakes

-mix, scale, and bake layers and sheets according to our formulas

Candidates must possess the following traits:

-punctual and reliable: because we work as a team, it is important that everyone can count on each other being at work and on time when we are scheduled

-friendly and cooperative: again, we work as a team to get the job done, so it is important to be able to work well with others

-energetic and capable of succeeding in a fast-paced environment: this job is not a sit-down job, so candidates need to be able to be on their feet for the duration of the shift

Hours Required: 3:00 AM - 11:00 AM Tuesday - Saturday with a Sunday rotation (all candidates must have Sunday availability)

We are looking for someone who has bakery experience and can jump right in. We are looking for someone who is looking for stable, reliable work-- this is not a job for students or someone interested in a part-time gig.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
