Responsibilities
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections of custom labels and pressure-sensitive label stock to ensure they meet customer and internal specifications.
- Inspect, test, and measure materials and products using tools such as rulers, calipers, or gauges to verify dimensions and quality.
- Check print quality, color, registration, die cutting, perforations, unwind direction, and overall appearance of labels.
- Compare colors, shapes, textures, and grades to approved samples or color charts to confirm conformance to standards.
- Mark items with acceptance/rejection status and follow procedures to reject or discard products that do not meet specifications.
- Collect samples for testing and document all inspection and test results clearly and accurately.
- Operate inspection and testing equipment safely and follow all company safety rules.
- Work closely with production staff to communicate quality issues and help maintain smooth production flow.
2nd Shift Hours: Monday - Thursday, 3:10pm - 1:40am
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Up to 2 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing or printing environment preferred.
- Ability to use dimensional measuring tools (such as rulers, calipers, and gauges) and perform basic tests used in the printing industry.
- Strong ability to visually inspect color, unwind direction, die cuts, perforations, and overall print quality.
- Able to read and understand job packets, blueprints, data, manuals, and other documents related to specifications and inspection procedures.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when inspecting product and recording results.
- Comfortable standing and walking in a production environment and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Required vision includes close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
