Non- Equity Partner - New York

Weber Gallagher is seeking a highly-skilled and experienced attorney to join our firm as a Partner in the civil defense litigation group in our New York City office, working on a broad range of general liability litigation matters including personal injury, motor vehicle, property damage, construction and labor law, and product liability. Our New York practice has experienced exponential growth over the last year, and we are searching for another great addition to our team! Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution.
• Oversee and contribute towards case strategy.
• Draft pleadings, answer written discovery, take depositions, and participate in arbitrations and trials.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to develop sound case strategies.
• Communicate with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
• Provide regular and timely updates to clients on case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with partners, associates, and legal staff, and provide mentorship to junior attorneys.
• Manage cases while adhering to billing and budget requirements.
• Build and foster strong client relationships.
• Ability to travel for court, client meetings, etc.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule from our office in New York.
  
  

Requirements

• 7 years of experience, preferably in defense litigation.
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• NY bar license, active and in good standing, required.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Have experience drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, answering written discovery, taking/defending depositions and handling oral arguments.
• Have experience in premises liability, general liability, product liability, personal injury, motor vehicle, property damage, construction and labor law, and insurance defense.
• Have excellent academic credentials as well as strong research, writing, organization, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven track record of success in courtroom appearances, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  
  

This position offers a salary range of $180,000 – $200,000 and is based on a variety of factors including education, experience, and internal equity.
