Associate

Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney to join the general liability/ civil defense litigation group in our in our Philadelphia office.  The individual will be responsible for handling a wide range of casualty litigation and general liability matters including premises liability, personal injury, motor vehicle, product liability and construction liability.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, answer written discovery, take depositions, and participate in arbitrations and trials.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to develop sound case strategies.
• Communicate with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
• Provide regular and timely updates to clients on case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with partners, associates, and legal staff.
• Manage cases while adhering to billing and budget requirements.
• Ability to travel for court, client meetings, etc.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule from our Philadelphia office.
  
  

Requirements

• 5 years of litigation experience, preferably in the casualty/general liability areas.
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• PA and NJ active and good standing bar license, required; DE Bar license also a plus.
• Experience with drafting pleadings, motions, attending depositions and hearings
• Some arbitration or trial experience
• Experience with billing time preferred but not required
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest in liability defense.
