Job purpose
Support the MISTC with technical support of all C2 system, server builds and networking issues. The Information Technology Specialist reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the Senior Network Engineer in coordination with the Program Manager (or Site Lead). Performs routine duties and related problem solving under general guidance, using own judgment and initiative.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop and document standardized installation, operation, integration, and sustainment procedures for C2 systems, computer operating systems, computer network and network infrastructure, and virtual machine (VMWare) configurations and architectures residing at the MISTC.
- Assist with installing and maintaining computer technology, including desktops, laptops, video conferencing equipment, mobile devices, and more. Assist with software installations and upgrades and replace hardware according to the replacement schedules
- Support end-user requests for hardware, software, and network support and provide troubleshooting and solutions
- Install, configure, optimize, maintain and operate network servers, hubs, routers, and switches ensuring they comply with security policy, procedures, and technical requirements
- Provides support and services related to software, hardware, databases, web resources, networks and enterprise systems. Duties of an information technology specialist can include network management, software development and database administration.
- Develop and implement access control lists on routers, firewalls, and other network devices
- Manage accounts, network rights, and access to MISTC systems and equipment
- Provide end user IT support for all MISTC operating systems, peripherals, and applications
- Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems software and hardware
- Perform IT related customer support functions including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training, in response to customer requirements
- Develop training materials and provide standardized instruction to the MISTC Equipment Instructors, Computer Network and Systems Engineers
- Maintain classrooms with latest versions of all programs of record (POR) including but not limited to; BFT/JBC-P, C2PC, CLC2S, TCPT, AFATDS and COC suite
- Maintain network infrastructure and be able to quickly troubleshoot and resolve network and server issues
- Information Assurance
- Apply cyber security procedures and safeguards
- Be able to produce and monitor site accreditation packages
- Conduct policy compliance
- Implement response actions to security incidents
Qualifications
- Security required
- CCNA, Microsoft, or VMWare certificates desired
Education
- Associates Degree in an IT discipline is preferred
Years of Relative Work Experience:
- 2 years’ experience in IT / Networking / Information Assurance
Clearance:
- Secret
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
