Spanish or Somali Interpreter

Seeking ON-Site Interpreters who are fluent in English and also Spanish, Somali, or other needed languages, well-suited for Medical Interpreting. (We have a higher demand for female interpreters due to Labor & Maternity Ward Patients).

THIS IS AN ON-SITE POSITION AND WILL START ASAP!! This is a contract position, meaning you will be self-employed, and making your own schedule by accepting as many (or few) appointments as you would like from our company.

Job Description Interpreters facilitate communication between two parties who speak two different languages. They do this verbally from one target language into a source language, often in a medical setting.

• The right candidate likes a flexible schedule and is organized to manage their own work load.
• Willing to drive to assignments that can range from a 20 minute assignment (always paid at an hour minimum) to a 12 hour shift.
• Must be proficient in technology and feel comfortable navigating technological tools (e.g. know how to use our portal and willing to use GPS to map locations).
• The right candidate is someone who is willing to continue to learn, willing to further develop their training/education required for the job duties they must perform. Individual must be HIPAA compliant, abide by the medical CODE OF ETHICS and STANDARDS OF PRACTICE.
• Has a strong work ethic, who is ethical, punctual, reliable, dependable and accountable and easy to work with.
• Any interested candidate must either have already completed the 40 hour Community Interpreting Training or be willing to do so within the first three months of working with us.
• Must be 18
• Must be on the MN State Roster for Interpreters

This position is a CONTRACT POSITION. As an Independent Contractor the position provides no benefits.
