JOB STATUS: Full-time (36 hours), 12 months per year
LOCATION: Willmar, MN

Help Head Start families build economic stability and opportunities in communities as a Cultural Liaison. Join our team and be a source of advocacy and support!
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Translate and Interpret: Provide oral and written translations to assist the Somali families with English challenges, and vice versa.
• Contribute and Build: Maintain a commitment to professionalism and help to build program practices and goals.
• Inspire and motivate: Establish respectful partnerships with families to help them reach their goals.
• Bridge Cultural Differences: Use your experience to help children and families in the classroom and home visits.
SKILLS TO WOW US:
• You're a strong communicator, both written and verbal, who easily connects with people.
• You can assess needs and create action plans that drive real results.
• You have experience working with the financial challenges of families and know which community resources would serve them best.
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution? You handle them with confidence.
• You're a team player who also thrives when working independently.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in helping to effectively translate the English/Somali Language families.
• CPR and First Aid Certification
