Join us as a Prepared Foods Cook!
We are seeking a dependable and driven Prepared Foods Cook to support our kitchen operations in our Chestnut Hill location. This is a full-time, non-exempt role working an anticipated 35-40 hours per week. Sunday - Thursday availability is required. Our Prepared Foods Cooks are responsible for efficiently and consistently preparing high-volume food production in advance of service needs, ensuring seamless execution during peak hours. The successful candidate will follow standardized recipes to prepare, package, and label a diverse selection of high-quality prepared foods for retail. This is a hands-on position that plays a critical role in maintaining product availability and delivering a positive experience for our customers. What You’ll Do
- Prepare items from our daily production list using provided recipes
- Pre-wrap and label products for sale
- Keep the kitchen clean and up to sanitation standards
- Pitch in with weekend shifts as needed
- Follow all Weavers Way policies and procedures
- Attend team meetings and all-staff gatherings
- Help with quarterly inventory counts
- Read the day book and other updates at the start of each shift
- Take on other duties as assigned by Kitchen Management
Requirements
- A commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op.
- Prior experience in restaurant or commercial kitchens is required.
- Proficient knife skills.
- Volume cooking experience is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of food safety practices.
- A team player with great communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when needed.
- Ability to remain standing for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- A genuine passion for food and current culinary trends.
