Join us as a Sandwich Clerk!
We are looking for an energetic, community-oriented and experienced individual to work as a Sandwich Clerk in our Chestnut Hill location. This position is part-time with an anticipated 20-29 hours per week. Flexible availability, including Some evenings and weekends, is required. If you have experience working in a team setting and a passion for great food, then we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities Include
- Providing responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.
- Observe all Weavers Way policies and procedures
- Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats and cheeses.
- Preparing special orders and party trays.
- Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure they comply with company standards and that new items and promotions are showcased.
- Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order.
- Following all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Deli Manager or Manager on Duty
- Cooperating with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends.
- A commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op.
- Deli counter or food preparation experience preferred.
- Commercial kitchen experience, including knife skills, is preferred.
- Great attention to detail.
- Good communication and people skills.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- The ability to remain standing for extended periods of time.
- Be, or become upon hiring, a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op.
