Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, ventilation systems, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to ensure precise installation and maintenance.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) equipment to optimize performance and longevity.
- Use specialized tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for system fabrication or repairs.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, ensuring proper connections and leak-free operation.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using technical knowledge of refrigeration cycles, ammonia refrigeration systems, and appliance repair techniques.
- Maintain detailed service records and reports of all installations, repairs, and inspections for quality assurance.
- Operate a company vehicle safely while adhering to all traffic laws as a
driver; ensure timely arrival at job sites.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or property maintenance with a focus on HVAC installation or service technician roles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with schematics, HVAC design principles, and equipment repair.
- Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems, boiler operation, welding techniques, and the use of diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units and ventilation solutions.
- Ability to read technical schematics and follow detailed installation instructions accurately.
- Prior field service experience working on appliance repair or property maintenance projects is preferred.
