What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer & E-Commerce Manager position at Wear Apparent?
About Us
We're a fast-growing branded merchandise and design agency startup. We design, produce, and sell custom branded products, and we run a multi-million dollar e-commerce merchandise store as a core part of the business. As a startup, we move quickly, wear multiple hats, and care deeply about the quality of everything that carries our name. We're looking for someone who can own both the creative and the operational sides of our online store.
The Role
We're hiring a Graphic Designer with hands-on e-commerce management experience to run the day-to-day of our merchandise store and produce the visual assets that make it sell. This is a hybrid creative-plus-operations role: you'll design the products and the brand imagery, photograph and mock up merchandise, and manage the store that brings it all to market. You'll be a key early member of our team with real ownership over how our store looks, performs, and grows.
Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain our multi-million dollar e-commerce merchandise store end to end, including product listings, inventory presentation, pricing updates, categories, and promotions.
• Build, update, and optimize the store on WordPress and WooCommerce — the platform our site is built on.
• Create high-quality graphic design assets for products, the website, marketing, and brand collateral.
• Produce professional product photography and styled imagery for the store and campaigns.
• Design and render product mockups to present new merchandise concepts to clients and for online listings.
• Keep the storefront visually consistent, on-brand, and conversion-focused.
• Troubleshoot basic store issues and coordinate updates to keep the site running smoothly.
• Collaborate with the team on launches, seasonal drops, and new product lines.
• Work directly with our fulfillment warehouse partner in Philadelphia, PA (about 10 miles from our Bensalem office) to coordinate inventory, product onboarding, and order fulfillment.
Qualifications
• Proven graphic design experience with a strong portfolio (design work and product imagery).
• Hands-on WordPress and WooCommerce experience — comfortable managing products, pages, and store settings.
• Demonstrated e-commerce management experience, ideally with a high-volume or high-revenue store.
• Strong product photography skills and the equipment/eye to shoot merchandise well.
• Proficiency in product mockup creation.
• Must know Adobe Creative Cloud — Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Lightroom.
• Self-direction and reliability — this is a contractor role where you'll own outcomes.
• Attention to detail and a genuine pride in presentation and brand quality.
Nice to Have
• Familiarity with print and production processes (screen printing, embroidery, DTG, etc.).
• Basic Branded/promotional merchandise industry experience.
• HTML/CSS for store customization.
• Email or social marketing experience.
• Startup or small-team experience.
Engagement Details
• 1099 independent contractor position.
• 20-30 hours per week.
• In-house the majority of the week at our Bensalem PA office with 1 remote day.
