Temporary Operator – Start-up & Commissioning

About the Role

We’re looking for experienced Operators to support the start-up and commissioning of new operating units at a petrochemical facility. This role is hands-on, safety-focused, and essential to ensuring reliable and compliant plant operations. You’ll work closely with shift teams, supervisors, and technical staff to bring new units online safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Promote a strong culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement

• Follow all site safety policies, procedures, and training requirements

• Support environmental compliance and complete required HSE training

• Operate chemical and utility process equipment during start-up and commissioning

• Identify and communicate operational improvement opportunities

• Troubleshoot equipment issues and report findings to Operations or Maintenance

• Participate in emergency response training and preparedness

• Use computer systems to document activities, log issues, and track progress

• Perform or assist with basic autonomous maintenance tasks

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma required

• Vocational/technical training or an Associate degree is a plus

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• High attention to detail and adherence to procedures

• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations

• Ability to safely operate mobile equipment (forklifts, manlifts, etc.) after training

• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs (25 kg)

• Flexibility to work varying schedules as needed
