Known for delivering complex projects across healthcare, education, retail, multifamily, and commercial sectors, the company continues to grow its Athens operations and is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join the team.
Position Overview
The Preconstruction Manager will lead all preconstruction activities from concept through project award, working closely with clients, design teams, and operations to develop accurate budgets, schedules, and project strategies. This role plays a critical part in securing new work while ensuring projects are positioned for successful execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction efforts for commercial construction projects
- Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and GMP proposals
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Coordinate subcontractor and vendor pricing during the bidding process
- Conduct quantity take-offs, scope reviews, and value engineering exercises
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and cost-saving solutions
- Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and internal project teams
- Participate in client presentations, bid reviews, and proposal development
- Support design-build and negotiated project pursuits
- Manage project turnover from preconstruction to operations
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project management within commercial construction
- Strong background in budgeting, estimating, and cost planning
- Experience with healthcare, education, multifamily, industrial, mission-critical, or large commercial projects preferred
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, BuildingConnected, or similar estimating software
- Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and project delivery processes
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple pursuits and deadlines simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
