Director of Construction

We are working with an established and growing commercial General Contractor in the Philadelphia area that is looking to appoint an experienced Director of Construction to its leadership team.
This is a senior-level opportunity for a proven construction leader who has extensive experience delivering commercial projects and managing multiple project teams. You will oversee construction operations, drive project performance and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
Responsibilities -
- Oversee multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Lead and develop Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents and project teams
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to a high standard
- Monitor project financials, schedules, risk and overall performance
- Work closely with estimating and preconstruction teams during project planning and handover
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors and key stakeholders
- Support staffing, resource planning and operational strategy
- Implement and improve construction processes and procedures
- Assist senior leadership with company growth and strategic planning
- Provide mentorship and leadership across the construction department
Requirements-
- 10 years of commercial construction experience
- Strong background working for a Commercial General Contractor
- Previous experience in a senior operational leadership position such as Director of Construction, Project Executive, Operations Manager or similar
- Proven experience overseeing multiple projects and project teams
- Strong understanding of commercial construction operations, scheduling, budgeting and cost control
- Excellent leadership and team-development skills
- Strong client-facing and communication abilities
- Philadelphia / Pennsylvania construction market experience is highly desirable
