Associate Development Manager

Our client is a Boston-based, fully integrated real estate development firm with a strong track record across mixed-use, multifamily, and commercial assets. With in-house capabilities spanning acquisitions, development, construction, and asset management, the firm is actively growing its pipeline across Greater Boston and key urban markets.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an Associate Development Manager to join a dynamic and collaborative development team. This is a hands-on role offering exposure across the full development lifecycle - from sourcing and underwriting through design, construction, and stabilization.
This position is ideal for someone looking to step into a high-impact, growth-oriented development seat with direct access to senior leadership and meaningful responsibility on active projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of ground-up and value-add development projects across multiple asset classes
- Assist in financial underwriting, including pro formas, cash flow modeling, and investment analysis
- Coordinate due diligence efforts (zoning, permitting, design, environmental, etc.)
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners including architects, consultants, contractors, and municipalities
- Track project budgets, schedules, and key milestones throughout the development lifecycle
- Prepare investment memos, presentations, and reporting materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Support capital raising efforts, including lender and equity partner coordination
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform development strategy
Qualifications
- 3β5 years of experience in real estate development, acquisitions, investment, or related field
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills (Excel proficiency required)
- Familiarity with the development process, including entitlement and construction phases
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across teams and stakeholders
- Self-starter with a high level of initiative and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multifamily, mixed-use, or urban infill development
- Exposure to Argus, Excel-based modeling, or similar tools
- Local market knowledge of Boston and surrounding areas
