Position Summary
IMMEDIATE HIRE – INTERVIEWS THIS WEEK | Palm Beach County & Treasure Coast | $15.00–$18.00/hr
We’re No Different, LLC is a licensed Home Health Agency contracted with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) and a Florida Medicaid provider. We provide person-centered, community-based services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We are hiring immediately for both part-time and full-time cases throughout Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, including West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Port St. Lucie, Stuart, and surrounding areas.
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional Companion Caregivers / Direct Support Professionals to support individuals in maintaining independence, safety, and meaningful community engagement. This position focuses on supervision, companionship, life skills support, transporting clients to activities and appointments, and promoting community inclusion under the APD Med-Waiver program.
This role requires emotional maturity, reliability, and the ability to follow individualized service plans while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and supervision in the home and community.
- Support individuals in developing and maintaining daily routines and independent living skills.
- Assist with life skills development (organization, hygiene prompts, social interaction, communication support).
- Transport clients safely to community activities, appointments, and outings when required.
- Encourage community engagement and social inclusion.
- Facilitate safe community outings (parks, stores, recreational activities, and appointments).
- Encourage independence while providing appropriate redirection when necessary.
- Support individuals with autism, intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), and behavioral challenges as outlined in their service plan.
- Follow behavior support strategies and maintain a calm, professional approach.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including EVV compliance.
- Report incidents, concerns, or changes in condition immediately to supervisor.
- Respect client rights, dignity, privacy, and cultural background.
- Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
- Communicate effectively with families and agency leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year caregiving or direct support experience preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral needs preferred.
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and professional.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and individualized service plans.
- Basic computer or smartphone literacy for documentation purposes.
Required Credentials (Upon Hire)
- Level II Background Screening (required or ability to obtain).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Reliable Transportation and proof of auto insurance.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Completion of required APD and agency training.
Work Environment
Services are provided in clients’ homes and community settings throughout Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, including West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Port St. Lucie, Stuart, and surrounding areas.
This position may require travel between client locations, transporting clients, and supporting community engagement activities. Flexible scheduling may include days, evenings, or weekends depending on assigned cases.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and accompany individuals in the community.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds if necessary.
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
