WCS Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented CAS Assessor to conduct the Child and Adolescent Service Needs (CAS) assessments for youth and families across Nassau and Suffolk County. This position plays a vital role in evaluating service needs, strengths, risks, and supports to ensure youth receive appropriate behavioral, developmental, and community‑based services.
Job Function:
- Conduct CAS assessments with children, adolescents, caregivers, and supporting professionals in home, community, or office settings.
- Identify strengths, functional needs, safety concerns, and recommended services.
- Engage families using a trauma‑informed, strengths‑based, and culturally responsive approach.
- Document all assessment findings accurately and submit within required timelines.
- Collaborate with care managers, clinicians, schools, and service providers as needed.
- Maintain compliance with state regulations, Medicaid standards, and agency protocols.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training for CAS competency.
- Manage scheduling independently while meeting daily/weekly productivity expectations.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, Nursing, or a related field.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, families, or behavioral health populations strongly preferred.
- Ability to complete or willingness to obtain CAS Assessor certification through state‑approved training.
- Strong communication, engagement, and interviewing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible, field-based schedule.
- Excellent written documentation and organizational abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community-based assessments.
