Job Summary:
The Medication Technician is responsible for the safe administration of medications to residents in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and state regulations. This role ensures accurate documentation and monitors residents for any changes or adverse reactions.
Key Responsibilities:

Administer medications following the "5 Rights" (right resident, medication, dose, time, and route)

Accurately document all medications administered in the MAR (Medication Administration Record)

Observe residents for side effects or changes in condition and report concerns promptly

Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized medication area

Communicate effectively with pharmacy, physician, staff and supervisors
Minimum Qualifications:

Current Medication Technician / Medication Aide certification (state-approved)

Current CPR and First Aid certification
-
Valid TB test and health clearance
-
Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting
Preferred Qualifications:

16 hour Medication Certification
-
Previous experience in assisted living, group home, or HCQC facility

Knowledge of MAR systems and basic medication administration procedures
