Essential functions (job duties):
The Department of Finance at Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business is seeking to fill a non-tenure tack Assistant Professor (Teaching) or an Instructor (Teaching) position starting Fall 2026.
Qualifications:
· Ph.D. in Finance or a related field to be hired as an Assistant Professor (Teaching). · A minimum of graduate degree in Finance to be hired as an instructor (Teaching). · Doctoral students in their final year will be considered but must complete their Ph.D. by August 2026. · Candidates with some experience teaching at the college level.
Preferred qualifications:
• We have a strong preference for those with a doctoral degree. • A candidate without a doctoral degree will be hired as an instructor as per the institutional rules. • A candidate with the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). • The candidate must possess the qualifications necessary to be designated as a qualified faculty member in accordance with AACSB standard. • Candidates who have taught or are interested in teaching Fixed Income Securities, Futures and Options, and a course in Data Analytics. • Candidates who could serve as course coordinator for a core MBA course in the Finance Department. • Candidates who could serve as the department’s career coach. • Candidates who could serve as the liaison with the industry.
