Wayne HealthSports is seeking a dedicated full-time Athletic Trainer to join our sports medicine team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care for student-athletes, preventing injuries, evaluating and treating injuries, and promoting overall physical health and wellness. This role reports to Sports Medicine Manager and Director of Rehab Serv.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required, Masters preferred.
- Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers
- Athletic Trainer licensure in Ohio
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
- Previous experience working as an athletic trainer at the high school level preferred
- Knowledge of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and emergency medical procedures
- Knowledge of sports psychology and general health and wellness practices
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to the care of the student-athletes
Responsibility:
- Expected to travel and attend functions at various locations both within and external to the hospital such as athletic events.
- Provide first aid and immediate medical attention for athletic injuries and conditions.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including documentation of injuries, treatments and rehabilitation programs.
- Ensure proper use of athletic equipment and facilities to minimize risk of injury.
- Communicates with athletes, coaches, parents and school staff when needed.
- Provide educational resources about injury prevention, emergency protocols, and health and wellness.
- Provide injury assessments and care during practices, games, and other athletic events.
- Offer injury prevention, rehabilitation services, recovery plans to athletes, parents and coaches.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Salary : $23 - $30
