Position:
The position is a Full-Time 12 hours a day for 36 hours a week and every other weekends. The position requires multi tasking and the applicant can be cross-trained to other functions. This position is under the direction and supervision of the Director of Inpatient Services.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, computer and typing skills preferred
- Unit clerk/secretarial experience preferred
- Successful completion of Basic ECG class is required
- CPR certification preferred within 6 months of hire
Responsibilities:
- Perform ongoing surveillance of patients’ cardiac monitors, cardiac rhythm and vital signs.
- Notify nursing caregivers of changes in cardiac rhythm and/or hemodynamics that could impact the patient’s condition.
- Interpret patient’s cardiac rhythm and document in the patient’s electronic medical record.
- Hand off report to the oncoming shift.
- Perform unit clerk duties and all other duties as assigned.
- Clerical/Monitor Tech is under the direction and supervision of the Unit director and House Supervisor.
