What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Dept - Nurse Educator - Casual/PRN position at Wayne Hospital Company?
Position:
This position is a casual/PRN, varied hours per week position. Teaching while utilizing adult learning principles. This position reports to the Education Manager. This is a non-union hourly position.
Qualifications:
- Currently licensed to practice in the State of Ohio
- BSN required
- Current American Heart Association BLS & ACLS certification required
- BLS AHA Instructor preferred
- ACLS AHA Instructor preferred
- PALS AHA Instructor Preferred
- Three years nursing experience required. Once year of teach experience preferred.
- One year of clinical education experience preferred
Responsibility:
- HealthStream Administrator including EMR/EPIC HealthStream build
- Lead Instructor of Nursing Department Orientation and annual competencies
- Orient new nurses and nursing assistants to policies and operation of the glucometer.
- PAPR Instructor – orienting new hires monthly.
- Restraint Instructor - orienting new hires monthly.
- Provides annual education and competency testing.
- Comprehensive current knowledge of nursing and health practices
- Evidence of good communication skills
- Ability to work well one-on one or in groups
- Other duties as assigned by Education department i.e. ACLS Instructor, ECG Instructor, POCT Glucometer Instructor, AVADE Instructor & etc.
- Maintains all required qualifications for area assigned.
- Physically able to perform the functions of the position.
- All other tasks as assigned.
Salary : $30 - $39
