ED Registration Clerk (Night Shift) Wayne General Hospital


Location: Waynesboro, MS | Department: Registration | Status: Full-Time

About the Role:
Wayne General Hospital is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented ED Registration Clerk to join our Registration team. As the first point of contact for patients in our Emergency Department, youll help ensure every visit starts smoothly and efficiently.

What Youll Do:

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in a courteous, professional manner
  
  
• Accurately collect and enter patient and insurance information into the EHR system
  
  
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations as needed
  
  
• Collect co-pays and outstanding balances
  
  
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
  
  
• Answer phones, schedule or update appointments, and direct calls appropriately
  
  
• Support staff to ensure efficient patient flow throughout the department
  
  

What Were Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  
  
• Previous medical office or registration experience (preferred, but not required)
  
  
• Basic understanding of insurance and billing helpful
  
  
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
  
  
• Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
  
  
• Bilingual abilities are a plus!
