We are looking for a skilled HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. In this role, you will work independently, supervise HVAC Technician Trainees, and keep systems running safely and efficiently across our facilities. What You’ll Do
- Supervise and train HVAC Technician Trainees, including performance evaluations
- Troubleshoot and solve problems with heating, cooling, refrigeration, and electrical controls
- Install and service boilers, compressors, pneumatic systems, ductwork, and control systems
- Perform preventive maintenance such as changing filters, oil, belts, and bearings
- Repair leaks, motors, pumps, steam traps, air handling units, and other HVAC equipment
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Recommend and implement energy-saving measures
- Test and treat water in cooling systems to prevent bacterial growth
- Maintain operating logs for all HVAC equipment
What We’re Looking For
You can qualify in one of the following ways:
- Associate’s degree or certificate in HVAC or a related field plus 2 years of full-time experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair
- High school diploma (or equivalent) plus 4 years of full-time HVAC experience
- A combination of training and experience that matches the above requirements
Substitution: Completion of a trade school program with coursework in boiler systems, heating plant, or HVAC/refrigeration may be substituted for one year of experience.
Requirements
- Valid New York State driver’s license at the time of appointment and maintained throughout employment
- Ability to read and work from blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including boilers, refrigeration, electrical, and heat pumps
- Ability to supervise and evaluate the work of others
- Dependability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently
