SUMMARY:
Reports to the division head or their designee, the Court Operations Research Analyst plays a key role in enhancing divisional court operations through data-driven strategies. This position partners with leadership to collect and interpret operational data, conduct targeted research, and deliver strategic recommendations that impact policy development and procedural improvements.
A critical aspect of the role includes resolving data discrepancies -identified by the Michigan State Police (MSP), particularly correcting failed entries within the Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN). By combining analytical expertise with operational insight, the analyst ensures data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and continuous advancement of court processes.
This is an at-will position serving at the pleasure of the Court which may unilaterally exercise the power to terminate your employment at any time, with or without cause

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
S:• Monitor timely submission of Motion for Relief of Judgment (MRJ)s and Court of Appeals (COA) communications; respond to judicial staff inquiries by identifying and resolving workflow issue
s.• Resolve LEIN entry errors reported by the MSP, ensuring prompt and accurate correction
s.• Collect, organize, and interpret data from multiple sources, including law enforcement databases and court record
s.• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of court operations, policies, and procedures to identify opportunities for improvemen
t.• Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings to internal stakeholder
s.• Maintain and validate databases to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reliabilit
y.• Support the implementation and evaluation of new policies, technologies, and procedural change
s.• Facilitate effective communication between court divisions, data teams, and external agencie

QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES and CERTIFICATIO
NS:• Bachelor's degree, in public administration, criminal justice, statistics or a related fi
eld• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in a public administration, criminal justice or court setting in an analytical ro
le.• If an employee drives on behalf of the Court, the employee must possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license, no fault insurance and access to a vehicle to use in the performance of assigned duti
es.• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant software and syste
ms.• Experience commensurate with the job that demonstrates the required skills and competencies may be considered in lieu of education requirement. Examples of equivalent experience: several years working in a judicial support role or administrative capacity essentially involving case management systems, procedural compliance, or inter-agency coordination. Experience with police departments, corrections, or legal advocacy organizations where LEIN systems, data entry, or policy implementation were core responsibilities. Hands-on experience conducting research, analyzing datasets, or developing dashboards in a court or legal environment. Leading operational improvement initiatives or managing projects with a strong focus on detail and process optimizati
