We are seeking a dynamic and welcoming Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team! This vital role serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a positive experience from the moment they walk through our doors. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK UNTIL 7pm EVERY OTHER MONDAY NIGHT
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that reflects our commitment to compassionate care
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently using eClinicalWorks
- Schedule appointments accurately while coordinating with nursing staff to optimize daily workflow
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other major providers, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date
- Collect and review patient information, updating medical records with precision while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally using proper phone etiquette; direct calls to the appropriate line.
- Assist with insurance verification procedures
- Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and documentation review processes; ensure compliance with medical office management standards
- Handle intake procedures for new patients
- Perform clerical tasks such as data entry using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and faxes.
- Support office management tasks including inventory management of office supplies
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar position in a medical office is highly desirable but not required
- Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR system eClinicalWorks is a plus but not required
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette
- Solid understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and security of patient information
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in all clerical tasks
- Strong organizational skills for filing medical records accurately and managing appointment schedules efficiently
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications related to medical administration are advantageous
