Program and Role Summary:
Wayfinder's Human Resources department partners with leadership to attract, develop, and retain a high-performing workforce while fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture. It provides strategic guidance and operational support across talent management, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development to ensure people practices align with business goals.
The primary purpose of the HR Benefits Specialist position is to coordinate and conduct the agency’s benefits administration as well as provide administrative support in the areas of performance management, and leave of absences. The HR Benefits Specialist will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative functions such as, but not limited to, process new benefit enrollments, generate monthly and quarterly reports, maintain our HRIS system, and provide agency wide employee training. This is a non-exempt position that reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitates new hire and annual benefit orientations, serves as the primary contact for employees regarding benefits related questions and support
- Administer and coordinate all employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA -related accommodations and other applicable leaves. Responsible for tracking leave of absence documentation and sending notices to employees to ensure full compliance with state and federal regulations
- Ensure timely reporting of work-related injuries and illnesses, maintain accurate incident and treatment records, and coordinate communication with employees, healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholders
- Assists with the preparation, review, and timely filing of IRS Forms 1095 and 1095-C in compliance with Affordable Care Act (ACA)
- Generates monthly and quarterly reports; develops queries and prepares unique data searches and reports as needed
- Provides administrative support to Senior Director of Human Resources
- Performs other duties as may become necessary or as directed.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of four years of administrative support experience is required
- A minimum of two years of working knowledge in benefits administration and leave of absence experience in a Human Resources department is required.
- Advanced computer skills and competency in the Microsoft Suite are required.
- Working knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices.
