Digital Navigator VISTA

Way Finders is currently seeking a Digital Navigator VISTA. The Digital Navigator VISTA will help bridge the digital divide by building systems that expand access to devices, internet connectivity, and computer literacy skills.
Applicants must have a commitment to serving communities experiencing poverty; strong communication and organizational skills; an ability to manage multiple projects; and be comfortable working with people from varied backgrounds and communities. The Digital Navigator will strengthen community awareness of online resources related to employment, housing, education, and healthcare.

Responsibilities include:
- Lessen the digital divide affecting low-income families, older families, and residents of the organization’s housing by expanding access to devices, affordable internet, and digital skills
- Research, develop, and document best practices to expand digital access and understanding for communities and the organization’s participants; review with supervisor and appropriate staff to ensure clarity
- Identify program gaps and opportunities; share findings with staff and stakeholders
- Proactively support the Digital Access for All coalition, to advance sustainable, community-driven solutions
- Build and leverage partnerships with external organizations including local libraries and community groups
- Develop and implement evaluation tools to measure effectiveness of computer literacy training programs
- Attend all assigned community-led meetings to expand computer literacy programming and participate in device distribution programs; develop frameworks to connect residents with peer mentors; track participation and program outcomes
- Support development of systems, materials, and outreach strategies for computer literacy workshops
Hiring Requirements/Preferences
- Exceptional digital technology skills with the ability to train/mentor others in developing a meaningful skill level that is transferable to updates and new technologies
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Enthusiasm for advocacy work
- Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and work both independently and as part of a team
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
