The Part-Time Studio Manager supports the day-to-day success of a Waxing the City studio, working alongside the Owner and studio team to ensure smooth operations, strong team culture, and an exceptional client experience. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader looking for a flexible schedule while still making a meaningful impact on studio performance and culture.
Schedule: Approximately 18–22 hours per week, with availability required on weekends and select evenings based on studio needs.
Responsibilities
Operations
- Oversee daily studio operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and profitability
- Ensure compliance with all state laws, licensing requirements, and Board of Cosmetology regulations
- Manage scheduling, timekeeping, payroll support, and team member coverage
- Maintain inventory levels and ordering processes to support uninterrupted service delivery
- Ensure studio cleanliness, safety, and upkeep in accordance with brand and regulatory standards
- Identify and address operational issues, including equipment maintenance and facility needs
Team Leadership
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and retain studio team members and cerologists®
- Lead daily huddles and provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance management
- Foster a positive, accountable, and caring studio culture aligned with Waxing the City values
- Develop team members through goal setting, development plans, and recognition of performance
- Ensure all team members are properly licensed, trained, and capable of delivering brand-standard services
Client Experience
- Lead the delivery of a consistent, high-quality, and welcoming service experience
- Drive client acquisition, retention, and loyalty through service experience excellence and engagement
- Manage client feedback and service recovery to protect the brand and client relationships
- Ensure service standards, brand expectations, and client touchpoints are consistently executed
Sales & Business Performance
- Drive revenue growth through service performance, retail sales, and membership/loyalty programs
- Execute system-wide promotions and support Club Orange loyalty program growth and retention
- Lead local marketing, community engagement, and studio-level social media efforts
- Track and respond to key performance indicators to improve sales, retention, and profitability
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to motivate a team and drive results
- High standard for customer service and brand experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of business, retail, or service-based management experience
- 2 years of experience in the beauty, salon, or personal services industry
