Med Room Manager – Senior Living

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and organized Med Room Manager to oversee medication room operations while providing hands-on support on the floor. This position is responsible for medication audits, staff scheduling, managing call-outs, and ensuring safe, quality resident care.

Responsibilities

· Oversee daily operations of the medication room and ensure medications are stored, administered, and documented appropriately.

· Conduct routine med room audits, including medication counts, expiration dates, MARs/TARs, controlled medications, and documentation.

· Identify and help resolve medication discrepancies and compliance concerns with Health Services Director and Executive Director.

· Work directly on the floor to support residents and care staff as needed.

· Create and maintain staff schedules based on resident and community needs.

· Manage daily call-outs and staffing coverage, including finding appropriate replacements.

· Provide direction, support, and coaching to caregivers and medication staff.

· Monitor resident care and report changes in condition or concerns appropriately.

· Maintain accurate documentation and support compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

· Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, pharmacies, healthcare providers, and leadership.

· Assist with training, quality improvement, surveys, and other community needs.

Qualifications

· Previous senior living, assisted living, memory care, or healthcare experience.

· Medication administration experience and knowledge of medication documentation.

· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

· Ability to manage staffing needs and respond effectively to call-outs.
