We’re hiring a full-time or part-time cook to join our dedicated team at a thriving sushi restaurant in the heart of downtown Mount Dora. We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable in a fast-paced environment and genuinely curious and excited about what we do. Most of our team has been with us for over two years, and we’re hoping to find someone who’s reliable, easy to work with, and ready to be part of something different. Desired applicants will have the ability to work a rotating schedule including mornings, nights, and/or weekends.

What You’ll Do:

• Set up and stock kitchen stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients
• Prepare fresh, high-quality food for service (including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and making sauces)
• Cook menu items to order, working in sync with your fellow kitchen staff
• Maintain a clean, organized station and adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
• Stock inventory and ensure proper handling of leftovers
• Ensure food is cooked to perfection and served in a timely manner, maintaining quality across all orders
• Stay calm and focused under pressure, especially during peak hours

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven cooking experience (line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
• A sense of urgency and accuracy in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and manage physical demands of the job
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• A positive, professional attitude, both with your team and customers

Our Hours:

• Monday: 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM
• Tuesday - Thursday: 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM / 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM
• Friday - Saturday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
• Sunday: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

We shut down in the middle of the day from 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM (Tuesday-Thursday) for employee breaks, ensuring everyone gets time to recharge.
