Industrial Engineer
ROLE:
Establish and maintain a safe working environment. Responsible for all incentive standards and cost estimating in accordance with established Industrial Engineering Procedures. Must work well with department leadership, administrative employees, and shop employees to maintain harmonious relationship. This job requires common sense, good judgment, and a broad knowledge of operations procedures and company policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for incentive standards, maintaining manufacturing cost system and cost estimating in accordance with established Industrial Engineering procedures.
- In accordance with company goals, must adhere to high standards of performance for self, Cost System and Quote System.
- Estimate cost for new jobs with knowledge and comparison of active parts.
- Review and discuss quotes with other department leaders for shop input.
- Create and maintain AS400, excel, and/or showcase queries used to collect data for support of cost and quality improvements.
- Review current production schedules to track problematic jobs and samples for process flow review at the spot. Review these jobs to determine potential improvements related to workflow, manpower organization, and equipment layout to ensure highest efficiency of operations.
- Assist department leaders to reduce inefficiency and ensure final products meet quality standards.
- Take Time Studies on all Foundry operations and create fair incentive standards for both employee and company utilizing workplace leveling percent.
- Assist payroll and department leaders to ensure rates are updated and to resolve any discrepancies.
- Establish workload and proper methods for new parts in all departments.
- Costs, methods and standards must be updated accurately and at the set frequency per company standard.
- Identify and promote continuous quality and workflow improvements.
- Assist department managers to attain and maintain the safety, quality, delivery, and financial goals as per company Scorecard.
Preferred Education/ Experience Requirements
- Two year Associate degree in Industrial Engineering or actively pursuing a degree in a field, which is deemed relevant to the position.
- Must have 3 years foundry or other related experience.
- Must be proficient in the use of excel, word, and power point. Proficiency in the use of AS400 preferred.
Travel Requirements
- Needs to be plant, department and shift mobile.
Qualifications/Skills
- Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to conduct team meetings and give short presentations.
- Must have full knowledge and understanding of reading blueprints.
- Must have knowledge of Industrial Engineering terminology, computer skills, department operations, and blueprint terminology.
- Must have full knowledge of work pace leveling percent.
- Must acquire & understand knowledge of safety policies/procedures for all plant departments.
