What are the responsibilities and job description for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Facilitator position at Waukee Community School District?
Terms of Employment: 205 days
Position Criteria:
- Valid Iowa teaching certificate.
- Five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
- Previous experience in designing and delivering professional development.
- Active experience in curriculum development, facilitation of professional learning, and demonstrated knowledge of innovative best practices.
- Masters degree in and educationally relevent field, preferred
Performace Criteria:
- Facilitate the development and implementation of Career and Technical Education (CTE) curriculum, including standards, benchmarks, and objectives with alignment to instructional practices and formative assessments.
- Work with principals and teacher committees to ensure horizontal and vertical continuity and articulation of the instructional program for Career and Technical Education throughout the district.
- Develop budget recommendations and coordinate the purchase of new instructional materials to support K-12 Career and Technical Education as well as professional development opportunities.
- Communicate and collaborate with the Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning and CTE teachers to plan for Perkins V budget allocations.
- Lead teaching teams in the K-12 Career and Technical Education with professional learning experiences tied to student equity & best practice.
- Develop and assist in the selection of assessment instruments and methodologies to provide accurate and meaningful data for measuring student performance and program effectiveness.
- Support professional learning around assessment and instruction to enhance teacher effectiveness and improve student learning.
- Lead the local program reviews for the Career and Technical Education department.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to review and revise the Waukee iCAP (Career and Academic Planning).
- Collect data to review the programs and to make recommendations for additional courses.
- Assist individual teachers and teams with ITPDP and building goals.
- Assist with new teacher mentoring and induction process.
- Collaborate with instructional coaches to promote consistency and continued shared learning

Compensation Note: Curriculum Facilitator role comes with an additional $10,000 stipend in addition to placement on the Certified salary schedule.
