Art Director

Watson
Poulsbo, WA Full Time
POSTED ON 12/27/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/26/2026

Welcome. We’re glad you’re here. And we’re not just saying that. We’re glad we’re here too. We are proud of this company and take great pleasure to introduce you to the Watson difference.

We are builders.
For more than 50 years we have designed and built revolutionary and award-winning workplace solutions for some of the most dynamic and innovative companies. Our designs are functional, simplistic, and manufactured with a high respect for our environment and our people. We are proud to source the best talent and materials at our manufacturing facility in Poulsbo, WA.

We’re looking for an Art Director who sees the big picture and the tiny details—and actually enjoys juggling both. At Watson, you’ll be the guiding voice (and eye) behind our brand’s creative expression, shaping everything from the first spark of an idea to the final, polished asset out in the world.

You’ll set the tone for how Watson shows up visually, keep our brand standards sharp, and make sure our creative work feels consistently “us.” You’ll also lead a talented creative team—offering direction, clarity, support, and the occasional pep talk when deadlines loom.

And because great work never happens in a silo, you’ll collaborate closely with our Director of Marketing and other key partners across product, sales, and beyond to grow and evolve the Watson brand.

Welcome to The Orchard

Please note: This role is 100% on-site at The Orchard our breathtaking Pacific Northwest workplace in Poulsbo, Washington.

The Orchard is more than just a campus. It’s a living, breathing reflection of who we are surrounded by towering Douglas firs, winding walking trails, and mountain views that make every day feel inspired. It’s also where you’ll find dogs wagging their tails down the hallways, team members gathering for our monthly BBQs, and spontaneous brainstorming sessions that turn into real change.

We believe in investing in growth- yours and ours. We provide learning and development opportunities that help you stretch your skills, explore new ideas, and turn curiosity into capability.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the creative process end-to-end—from the initial what if to the final here it is.
  • Define the visual direction for projects big and small, working closely with designers, writers, and cross-functional teammates. Your playground includes branding, renders, logos, style guides, decks, motion, social, digital, events, web, UX/UI, email, direct mail, print, and photography.
  • Write thoughtful, clear creative briefs that tie business goals and our customers’ journeys to big ideas.
  • Partner with Product and Design leaders to shape and support major product launches.
  • Keep design files organized, handoffs smooth, and workflows sane.
  • Build, maintain, and lovingly enforce the Watson brand style guide.
  • Oversee the development of collateral (brochures, lookbooks, takeaways, etc.) concepting, design, layout, implementation, and ongoing updates for print and digital.
  • Own your deadlines. We’ll help you meet them.
Qualifications:

What You Bring

Collaboration

You build relationships easily and treat teammates like… well, teammates. You communicate clearly, listen well, and don’t shy away from honest conversations that move the work forward.

Drive for Results

You’re the person others count on to get things across the finish line—with curiosity, quality, consistency, and a little creative flair.

Approachability

You’re easy to talk to, even when stakes are high or details are fuzzy. You make space for questions, ideas, and the occasional creative wobble.

Priority Setting

You know what matters most, and you help others stay focused too. You cut through noise, clear roadblocks, and keep the work moving.

Timely Decision Making

You make smart calls—even when timelines are tight, info is imperfect, or the coffee hasn’t kicked in yet.

Your Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10 years in a design agency or in-house creative team.
  • A portfolio that shows excellent design taste, strong storytelling, and real experience with collateral layout, advertising, experiential marketing, and promotional work.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift (sometimes mid-sentence).
  • Solid project management chops.
  • Curiosity around AI-powered design tools—and ideally, some hands-on experimentation.
  • A network of trusted, talented creative partners you love collaborating with.
  • Deep expertise in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (yes, both matter equally).

Wage and Compensation

  • This role can expect to earn a salary of $90,000- $120,000 per year.
