About The Role
As a Product Engineer focused on metal-sheathed, compacted MgO heater product lines, you will blend both technical engineering depth and customer-facing support. You will influence product roadmaps, support new product development, improve manufacturing systems, and provide application guidance to ensure successful customer outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Advance and support Watlow’s metal-sheathed, compacted MgO heater product lines, including product and process design, testing, and documentation.
- Develop and execute test plans, reports, specifications, and design packages; support modifications to existing products.
- Lead or support lean product development methods and continuous improvement initiatives for cost, quality, performance, and reliability.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Operations, Product Management, Applications Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure product success.
- Provide technical support to customers, including application guidance, problem resolution, and insights for product innovation.
- Help maintain product compliance with relevant safety and performance standards (UL, CE, CSA, VDE).
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related physical science/engineering field; or at least three years of relevant product engineering experience.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Basic knowledge of electric thermal systems (heaters, sensors, controls).
- Experience with products used in regulated markets (medical, aerospace, analytical, process industries).
- Understanding of Lean Product Development methods.
- Ability to manage multiple projects of various scope and complexity.
- Strong interpersonal communication, collaboration, and coaching skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly flexible environment.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
