Assistant Middle School Football Coach

Required Qualifications

• Sport-specific participation
• Coaching experience preferred
• CAP Level 1 completion preferred
• CPR / AED required or must obtain upon hire

Critical Skills

• Works well with athletes and middle school age students.
• Ability to speak clearly and audibly to various groups expressing ideas in a logical and forthright manner.
• Ability to quickly analyze a situation and provide prompt advice.
• Ability to respond to information requests in a courteous, timely, and helpful manner.
• Ability to work constructively and cooperatively with others.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Performance Responsibilities

• Work alongside all coaches in the football program.
• Create an engaging practice plan that aligns with the vision for the program.
• Enforce all rules of the MHSAA and WPS.
• Communicate in an appropriate and timely manner to students, parents, the athletic director, and other coaches.
• Maintain an accurate team roster at all times.
• Supervise practice sessions and maintain security of the locker room.
• Follow all injury and player safety protocols.
• Support the entire athletic program of the Watervliet Public School system.
• Attend all coaches meetings.
• Assist with scouting for the varsity team if necessary.

• District Athletic Director
• Head Varsity Football Coach
