About the Role
As a Group Director, you will oversee multiple key accounts, supervising project teams, managing the P&L, driving organic growth and providing senior level strategic counsel across all areas of Waterhouse’s holistic service offering. You will also support new business acquisition. Viewed as a senior leader within our organization, you will drive organizational excellence, represent our firm as a thought leader, and inspire our team to deliver extraordinary account service and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
· Overseeing client engagements, including building strong relationships with client stakeholders, serving as a thought partner to day-to-day project team members and ensuring timely delivery of projects that track to strategy and exceed client expectations
· Actively managing the “business of running the business”, including seeking opportunities for organic growth, tracking progress against budget and managing project financials and ensuring client engagements are staffed for success
· Identifying opportunities to help our clients tackle their most pressing marketing, communications and employee engagement challenges, readily jumping in to roll up your sleeves to bring those solutions to life
· Creating and/or editing deliverables such as brand strategies, messaging platforms, print and digital marketing collateral and internal communications that execute client objectives
· Raising the firm’s profile as a thought leader on LinkedIn, our company blog and through networking and events
· Spearheading new business proposals including working with firm leadership to prepare for pitch meetings, project resourcing and development of scopes of work and project budgets
· Directly and indirectly managing and mentoring account team members, helping members of our team grow, learn and thrive
About You

· You love science and have developed a fluent understanding of regulatory pathways, clinical milestones and how companies operate through multiple stages of development
· You are a credible strategic counselor across most-to-all areas of Waterhouse’s service offering, including brand marketing, corporate and internal communications, design and digital deliverables
· Your strong writing skills make you an excellent editor who is able to coach others towards developing and delivering great stories
· You are a sharp, articulate communicator with an ability to present your ideas and recommendations internally and to clients
· You see the value in mentoring the next generation of firm leaders, and take the time to help educate and coach others on the “why” behind the work
· You are excited to contribute to a growing team and help shape the agency’s future
Additional Criteria
· 12 years of experience working for a healthcare-related public relations, brand marketing, communications, or digital agency. Alternatively, a combination of agency and in-house experience in corporate communications or employee relations role at a life sciences company.
· Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or science; advanced degree preferred
· Demonstrated strategic, multi-media storytelling ability as evidenced through writing samples
· High comfort-level working with time-entry and project management systems, and presentation software
Salary is commensurate with experience.
