Duties
- Prepare and chop ingredients for cooking, including vegetables, meats, and other food items.
- Assist in menu planning and ensure that all meals are prepared according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is handled safely and hygienically.
- Support the cooking staff during meal preparation and service by providing timely assistance as needed.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Participate in catering events as required, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service.
- Familiarity with menu planning and meal preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Culinary experience with demonstrated knife skills is highly desirable.
- Experience in a restaurant or catering environment is a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
