Position Overview
The Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a creative, organized, and community-minded professional to serve as our Events & Social Media Coordinator. This role is focused on planning and executing Chamber events while leading social media and marketing efforts that support member engagement, sponsorship visibility, and community connection.
This is a highly visible, fast-paced position ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative and operational side of event planning and marketing.
Schedule
Full-time
Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend events required
Key Responsibilities
· Events & Community Engagement
· Plan and coordinate Chamber networking events, signature events, ribbon cuttings, and community programs
· Assist with event logistics including registrations, timelines, vendor coordination, setup, and execution
· Support sponsorship fulfillment and event visibility opportunities
· Attend Chamber events and represent the organization professionally within the community
· Collaborate with committees, ambassadors, members, and local partners to support successful events
· Social Media & Marketing
· Manage and grow the Chamber’s social media platforms
· Create engaging content including event promotions, member spotlights, community highlights, and event recaps
· Design graphics and promotional materials using Canva or similar tools
· Assist with email marketing, newsletters, and website updates
· Maintain consistent Chamber branding and messaging across platforms
· Member Support & Communications
· Promote member businesses and Chamber initiatives through digital and event-based visibility
· Assist with communications and member engagement efforts
· Support event follow-up, sponsor recognition, and marketing initiatives
· Maintain organized event and marketing materials for future use and continuity
Qualifications
· 2 years of experience in marketing, events, communications, or related field
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Experience with social media management and content creation
· Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and Canva (or similar design software)
· Ability to attend occasional morning, evening, or weekend events
· Positive attitude with strong customer service and relationship-building skills
Compensation & Benefits
· Salary range: $42,000 – $55,000 annually (based on experience)
