Position Overview
The Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a relationship-driven, community-minded professional to serve as our Member Development Coordinator. This role is focused on growing, engaging, and supporting our membership base while helping connect local businesses to valuable resources, events, and opportunities.

Schedule
- Part-time (approximately 20-30 hours per week)
- Opportunity for increased hours during peak seasons and major events
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and onboard new Chamber members through outreach and relationship-building
- Serve as a primary point of contact for member engagement and support
- Build strong relationships to increase member retention and participation
- Promote Chamber events, programs, and opportunities
- Support planning and execution of events, including ribbon cuttings and networking programs
- Attend events to connect with members and represent the Chamber
- Collaborate with members to identify opportunities for visibility through event sponsorships and partnerships
- Assist with communications, including email, social media, and member spotlights
- Maintain accurate member records and track engagement activity
Leadership & Engagement:
- Lead and develop the Chamber’s Ambassador Group, providing structure, direction, and ongoing engagement
- Foster a welcoming environment for new members through ambassador outreach and onboarding support
- Empower ambassadors to actively promote Chamber events, initiatives, and membership benefits within the community
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or relationship management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with outreach, networking, and community engagement
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; CRM experience a plus
- Ability to attend occasional early morning, evening, or weekend events
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $18 – $22 per hour (based on experience)
