Bread is the cornerstone of the bakery’s offerings, made the slow way with long fermentation, sourdough levain, and locally sourced ingredients. This process ensures the development of maximum flavor complexity, consistency, and exceptional eating experience.
All products are baked exclusively with NW grown. By taking advantage of produce and other ingredients available from local hard-working farmers and millers, Water Tank Bakery creates food that tastes of the unique abundance of the Skagit Valley.
We are looking to fill the following positions:
This position is responsible for retail service at the bakery walk-up window, completing food preparation tasks, and product packaging.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing friendly, knowledgeable, and quality customer service at the bakery walk-up window
- Communicating product and business information with customers as necessary
- Utilizing a Shopify POS system to ring up orders and cash handling
- Sanitarily packaging cookies and bread
- Setting up and maintaining an aesthetically pleasing bread and pastry display
- Communicating relevant information to Rachael and fellow employees within a reasonable time
- Closing retail display and cleaning up
- Safely handling unsold products and returning them to storage as necessary
- Leaving the retail area clean and organized and the cashbox/square in the office
· Product packaging
· Performing misc. food preparation tasks as listed on the white board
· Scooping cookie dough
· Stamping/stickering bread bags
· Other duties as needed or required
Supervision Received:
This position reports directly to Rachael Sobczak.

Other requirements:
· Be 18 years old with reliable transportation.
· Be able to lift 50lbs and stand for an 8-hour shift and work in 80 degree temperatures.
· Have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
· Have a current food service handling certification.
· Be able to demonstrate proficiency in basic mathematics, including proportions/percentages.
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
