Job Overview
We are hiring a dependable and flexible Full-Time Floater Teacher to support multiple classrooms across age groups. This essential role helps maintain ratios, ensure classroom coverage, and uphold a consistent standard of care throughout the center. You’ll work alongside lead and assistant teachers, stepping in wherever needed to support children’s learning and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with implementing classroom routines and Creative Curriculum activities across infant, toddler, and preschool rooms
- Supervise children during transitions, playtime, meals, rest, and outdoor time
- Ensure health, safety, and sanitation procedures are followed in all classrooms
- Assist with diapering, toileting, handwashing, and classroom clean-up
- Prepare classroom materials and support lesson execution
- Communicate professionally with staff and families; foster positive relationships
- Adapt to daily classroom needs and move between rooms as needed
- Comply with all DCY regulations and Water Lily Learning Center policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA, ECE coursework, or Associate degree preferred
- Prior experience in a licensed childcare or early education setting strongly preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Understanding of early childhood development and classroom safety
- Ability to work on your feet, lift up to 40 lbs, and assist in all areas of classroom care
- Must meet all DCY licensing requirements, including background checks
Schedule and Compensation
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- Morning or mid-day schedule depending on center needs
