Job Summary:
The FSQA Supervisor provides supervision, technical assistance and scheduling of quality assurance technicians and associates. As a quality assurance professional, he or she is involved in all aspects of quality and safety including but not limited to audits, HACCP program evaluation, GMP training, sanitation evaluation, pest control, purchasing supplies, working with operations personnel on quality and safety issues, inspecting returned and incoming products, customer complaints, implementing policies and procedures and evaluating new equipment installation or repair.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage QA technicians
- Set goals, develop onboarding and training programs, and provide guidance and support through their professional journey.
- Manage people and resources to meet departmental and organizational goals.
- Ensure effective FSQA training for cross functional teams, including operations, maintenance warehouse, logistics and others.
- Support the facility in ensuring food safety programs and regulatory requirements are met and challenged for continuous improvement.
- Data utilization to aid in continuous improvement.
- Oversee implementation of HACCP, SSOP, GMP, and pre-requisite programs.
- Assist in management of food safety and quality requirements.
- Guide and develop cooperative relationship between plant departments and USDA and other regulatory agencies.
- Actively analyze situations to make informed dispositions and decisions based on product safety and quality. Generate CAPA for findings during production runs.
- Instill collaboration among cross-functional plant teams in issue resolution.
- Generate FSQA shift reports and communicate information across the different functions ensuring timely resolution of findings and non-conformances.
- Review production records, perform pre-shipment review in a timely manner, assure only safe high-quality product is released into commerce.
- Conduct thorough investigation of customer complaints, prepare and taste retained samples, prepare a detailed CAPA report and communicate with internal teams and customer quality teams.
- Work with Sanitation team, verify sanitation effectiveness, collect data and perform trend analysis to identify areas for improvement.
- Professional communication (written / verbal) with internal and external customers.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and regulations.

Requirements / Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of work experience (3-5 years relevant QA food industry experience) and training.
- Experience in direct supervision preferred.
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- HACCP certification preferred
- SQF certification preferred
- Take a proactive role in assuring safe, quality products are produced by immediately addressing any safety or quality concerns.
Physical Requirements:

- Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Plant audits and inspections may require lifting of products up to 50 pounds and inspection requires working in a production environment on a moving line, lifting cartons, and visual inspection.
- Corrected vision required for sensory analysis to identify color, clarity.
- Warehouse and plant audit also requires close and distance vision to judge GMPs; peripheral vision and depth perception mandatory for safety.
- Ability to use standard office equipment.
