Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales transactions swiftly and securely
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance customer purchases and store revenue
• Conduct product demos when applicable, highlighting features and benefits to customers
• Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and merchandised
• Handle cash, credit, and mobile payments with precision, adhering to cash handling procedures
• Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and inventory management to ensure product availability
• Practice professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online channels
• Support in supervising team members during shifts, providing guidance on cashier procedures and customer interactions

Experience

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
• Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not mandatory
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks efficiently
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and stock management is beneficial

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 24.0 per week
