We are looking for a versatile and highly organized Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role has a primary focus on managing the entire payroll process. Reporting to the HR Director, this candidate will be the go-to-person for all payroll-related matters for our employees ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across multiple states. This is a full-time role with varied responsibilities based on the Company’s needs.
Essential Job Functions:
Payroll
- Lead the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for all employees using ADP Total Source.
- Manage and maintain the payroll system, ensuring data integrity for all new hires, terminations and salary changes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding all payroll-related questions and concerns.
- Process wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other mandatory deductions in compliance with legal requirements.
- Prepare and generate regular and ad-hoc payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll files and records within the HRIS.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
- Collaborate with the HR Director on year-end activities, including the preparation and distribution of W-2s.
Human Resources
- Contribute to HR/Payroll projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience processing multi-state, complex payroll is required.
Payroll certification (e.g., FPC, CPP) is a significant plus.
Job Skills and Requirements:
- Proven experience with a strong, hands-on payroll component.
- Solid understanding of payroll best practices, tax regulations, and federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Proficiency with ADP Total Source Payroll Processing required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are essential.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet firm deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to address employee inquiries with professionalism.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
