Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in preparing and organizing classroom materials aligned with early childhood education standards.
• Support children with daily activities, including literacy, math, arts, and play-based learning exercises.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety and well-being.
• Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions and emotional development.
• Communicate effectively with children to foster language development and social skills.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor individual progress and adapt instructional approaches as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that complies with educational regulations and safety standards.
• Support parent communication by sharing updates on children’s progress and behavior in a professional manner.
• Use educational technologies such as computers and tablets to enhance learning experiences when appropriate.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and other relevant educational policies.

Experience

• Prior experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles, special education needs, including working with children with autism or disabilities.
• Familiarity with classroom behavior management techniques and early childhood curriculum frameworks such as Montessori or other pedagogies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, parents, and external specialists.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members clearly and professionally.
• Experience using educational technologies such as computers or tablets to support learning activities.
• Understanding of educational compliance standards and regulation requirements for preschool environments.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
